Thessalia is a small nation ravaged by plague and besieged on all sides. To the west, the Bloody Men of the dark forests are stirring, bent on fierce raids or all-out conquest. Cail is a man of duty. He used to be a man of faith. And now, he might be his people’s only hope to keep them and their traditions alive.

But what if that isn’t what is best for Thessalia? And who gets to decide?
